36 Week Scan
Filed in Scan, Update, February 5, 2010, 10:06 pmJust to let you all know that we had our 36 week scan today (if you remember, we needed to have one as our 20 week scan showed that the placenta was a little low) and everything is fine!
Last antenatal class
Filed in Update, January 27, 2010, 5:15 pmSo, this is definitely a sign that the end is nearing, we had our last antenatal class this week and it is Hannah’s last week in work.
The class was all about coping once you get back home and what to expect from the midwife and health visitor in the weeks following the birth. It seems like you get a lot of support over the first few weeks, the midwife will come to visit everyday for the first two weeks if you need her and then after that you will receive a visit from the health visitor who can offer more support if needed.
34th Week Midwife Appointment Updated
Filed in MidWife, Update, January 23, 2010, 12:06 pmHi All
Just a little update about our Midwife appointment we had on Wednesday. Now with pictures of the cot and rocker!
All went well, the baby is doing fine. It has engaged, so is sticking it’s bum in the air, which is the way it should be. TTP also has a nice strong heartbeat and good strong movements, according to the (trainee) Midwife!
Getting Nearer
Filed in MidWife, Update, January 19, 2010, 1:56 pmSo, there is only 6 weeks to go. Gulp!!
Everything is progressing well and we have bought most of the things we need, just a few final minor things to get now. We are 3/4 of the way through our antenatal clinics, they have been so so, with some of the mid-wives really unimpressive, whilst the others have been very good.
20 WEEK SCAN
Filed in Scan, Update, October 16, 2009, 12:34 pmWe had our 20 week scan today, all seems generally ok, we have to have another scan at 36 weeks because Hannah’s placenta is quite low, however, this is very common and 90% of the time, by the 36 week scan, it will have moved out of the way. It doesn’t affect the baby in anyway, but if it doesn’t move up, it might mean Hannah will have to have a caesarean section delivery. It is nothing to really worry about though as it is quite common and fixes itself more often than not. As far as the baby goes, everything is fine and looks normal. Obviously it is impossible to 100% confirm that everything is ok, but all the things they checked look fine, so everything is ok so far.
Houston, we have MOVEMENT!
Filed in Movement, Update, September 29, 2009, 2:53 pmIt has happened a few times now, but for the past week or so, Hannah has been feeling “flutterings” (the official term) that are the first real movements that a Mummy feels. Obviously, the other Mummies reading this know what it feel likes, but apparently they are very faint and hard to describe. As I said, this has been going on for a week or two, but today, Hannah felt something different, for the first time, she felt it move from the OUTSIDE! She said it was quite a small movement, but a movement none-the-less. I guess it was just getting bored of all the sitting down Hannah has been doing, in preparation for her ACCA exam tomorrow.
Now, this doesn’t mean you can all now rush down and start feeling Hannah, since it was probably just luck that she felt it, but, it does mean that things are moving on and give it a few months, we will definitely be able to feel something on a regular basis.
Cool huh?
Second Meeting With The Midwife
Filed in MidWife, Update, September 23, 2009, 11:04 pmToday, we had our second Midwife meeting. It all went very easily, nothing much to report….apart from the fact that WE GOT TO HEAR OUR BABY FOR THE FIRST TIME!!
Cool. It’s little heart was beating very fast, but this is totally normal. Sadly, I only managed to record the last few seconds of it’s beating, since the Midwife was finding it hard to find, little TTP kept on running away from her. But, for what it’s worth, here is our Baby’s heart for five seconds!
